Notes
With “PROFESSIONAL QUITTER”, ZIST delivers his most self-aware and vulnerable work yet—an album built around a word that makes most people uncomfortable: quitting. But from the very first listen, it’s clear there’s nothing passive or defeatist here. A quitter isn’t someone who backs out out of cowardice, but someone who chooses to step away from a system that’s draining them. ZIST turns this figure—the “professional at giving up”—into a kind of contemporary antihero.
The album moves between dark electronics, gritty guitars, and beats that feel like they’re pulsing from inside a room too small to contain all the world’s anxieties. ZIST sings about burnout, relationships falling apart, unmet expectations, and that persistent sense of being “out of place.” But instead of glorifying perseverance at any cost, “PROFESSIONAL QUITTER” offers a radical alternative: knowing when to stop can be an act of strength.
A Professional Quitter is someone who has learned to let go of everything that has turned toxic: jobs that promise everything and give nothing, identities built to please others, connections that drain energy without giving any back. It’s not a praise of giving up for its own sake, but an invitation to recognize when a fight is no longer worth the emotional toll it demands.
ZIST presents this process as a path toward personal liberation. His songs feel like entries from a diary written late at night, where each act of quitting is a step toward something more authentic. Quitting becomes a method of reclaiming space, of breathing again, of redefining oneself without the pressure to constantly prove something to the world.
In an era that demands we always be productive, efficient, and relentlessly resilient, “PROFESSIONAL QUITTER” stands as a manifesto against the glorification of overcommitment.

This album is dedicated to all the things that stumble, crash, and crawl till the rising Sun.
The new Sun could be older than the old one — there’s no age in a man’s agony.
If you want to quit, then do it. Quit, quit like a professional quitter!
Then crawl again, till the end.
BE CRUEL.
