Halloween has a way of arriving when it’s almost Halloween time. And Kyle, the one-man universe behind Lovers Turn To Monsters, knows exactly what to do with that feeling.
Following the wonderfully warped Better Weird Than Dead, here comes a new collection of ten songs, eight originals and two covers, conceived as a sort of sequel to that 2019 collection. A little love letter to the spooky season, assembled from horror films, childhood memories, serial killers, autumn leaves, family life, questionable television habits and the peculiar comfort of being scared in the dark.
The cassette arrives today, October 13, courtesy of Almost Halloween Time Records. And, as with every AHTR release, each cover is hand-painted, making every physical copy a small, unique artefact from this ever-expanding universe.
