All 21 copies are now gone.
For this release, I painted the largest canvas I have ever painted. It was a strange and very enjoyable experience, making something much bigger than the small spaces I usually work on. The canvas was cut into 21 pieces, each one becoming a different cover for one of the 21 copies of the 10″.
The painting disappeared as a whole and became 21 fragments.
Each record now carries a small, unique piece of that original image. A fragment of a painting, a fragment of the process.
Perhaps this is what we like most about making physical records: the possibility that an object can contain not only music, but also time, hands, accidents, decisions and a little bit of the person who made it.
Thank you for making all 21 pieces disappear into the world.
