I was there to see the songs on “L’Amore Da Vicino” grow. Giorgio Cuscito’s album has finally been released on VREC. This video is from last May, when Giorgio opened for The Cannanes at Mesalibre in Gioia del Colle.
“Marmo” is a pivotal track on “L’amore da vicino”. It originated from an old guitar-and-voice chorus Giorgio had carefully cherished since his youth.
Here, Giorgio addresses two central themes of his poetic vision: the forms and the non-origin of being. “I encounter my indefinable face in the rearview mirror. It becomes a copy, a statue as motionless as David—seeing everything, yet savoring nothing.”
