After bringing American lo-fi pioneer
Linda Smith, along with Nancy Andrews, to Italy for the first time, and organizing the Italian tours of Simon
Joyner, Bingo Trappers, and Best Parts, the collaboration between the cult
Italian indie and lo-fi label Almost Halloween Time Records, Stand Alone Complex, and
Saturnalia continues. This time, they’ve teamed up to bring Australian indie pop legend The Cannanes to Italy for the first time in their forty-year career.

The Cannanes have been described as “the most indie band in the world.” Formed in Sydney in
1984, without ever having a manager or agent, they toured the world and performed
especially in the UK, USA, Australia, and Japan. They are internationally recognized
as pioneers of Australian indie pop. Even Kurt Cobain, in his diary,
listed the Cannanes among the bands he most admired.
From their lo-fi and art rock beginnings, to the alternative indie rock of the ’90s, to the indie pop rock
of the last twenty years, the band has released 11 LPs and a multitude of CDs/EPs, cassettes, 7″
and 12″ singles, up until 2016.
In 2020, after a few years’ hiatus, a new song appeared on a compilation
by the cult Italian label Almost Halloween Time Records, and it’s thanks to the
collaboration between AHT and the collective Stand Alone Complex that the Cannanes will be touring
in Italy, for the first time in their career!
Long Stay Ultra Girls are a young indie pop band we’ll be hearing a lot about!
Formed in Poggiomarino (Naples) in 2023, they quickly conquered the Neapolitan
indie and underground scene. Inspired by Slowdive, The Jesus and Mary Chain, and Beat
Happening, they write songs that draw on the carefree joy of childhood and the
melancholy of late adolescence.
Their debut album, “Born To Frolic, World Is A Garden!”, was released in the summer of 2025 on
Almost Halloween Time Records. They will be supporting Australian band Cannanes on
their Italian tour!
